A new Web site is being constructed that will inform students on tuition.

The site will be accessible through the ECU site.

"The purpose of the site is so students and the community can see where there money is being spent and used," said Ron Newton assistant vice chancellor for administration and finance.

The site will have data on past tuition rates and where current tuition and money from university is being spent.

"The data on this site will be used to help assist in decisions that will be made for the tuition to come," said Newton.

The site will be ready and accessible before the fall semester for students and the community to access.

He feels the new site will allow students to communicate with the committee and ask questions in addition to having historical data on past tuition rates and expense to help in decision making for the upcoming fiscal years. Allow information on tuition to be accessible to

current students and the community.

The site is being created following the guidelines provided by the Board of Governors and the UNC School System.

"The site will not cost anything," said Stephanie Coleman, accountant for financial services. "It will be provided by our staff."

The homepage of the site will have a list of documents in which students can feel free to access.

Students who are interested are welcome to get involved by emailing questions, comments, and concerns to the tuitionfeeescomm@ecu.edu.

"We wanted to make the site transparent and open to all," said Stephanie Coleman.

Students can access at www.ecu.edu/tuitionfeescomm/

Information pertaining to tuition for students can also be accessed at the ECU Fact Book at: http://www.ecu.edu/cs-admin/ipre/Institutional-Research.cfm#factbook.
