Ticket 1 achieved victory this past week in the Student Government Association elections.

"It broke the curse of the secretary," said newly-elected secretary Kendra Parks.

In last year's election, secretary candidate Brittany Adams was the only one from her ticket that did not make it into office.

Ticket 1 also achieved another huge stepping-stone--they where the first ticket in four years to all be voted in.

"I was excited to hear that they all had made it in," said Melissa Hege, the campaign manager for Ticket 1. "I had felt good because I had pushed them to their limits and it felt good to see that all their hard work had paid off."

Approximately 3,248 students voted in this past election.

Ticket 1 candidates did not know how to react after hearing the result last Thursday.

"I was so excited," said Brad 'Cornbread' Congleton. "It felt great to have that support from the students that I thought I had not had."

Ticket 2 presidential candidate Michael Harris agreed that Ticket 1's victory was an accomplishment.

"They knew how to market themselves," said Harris. "With every name came a face to everything that they had. Flyers and handouts had their names identified with a face. I congratulate them and wish them the best of luck."

Ticket 1 was out there in full force everyday before and during election.

"They had a great campaign team," said Ticket 3 presidential candidate Patrick Sebastian. "They had a campaign team working around the clock getting their name out there. I just wish them the best of luck in the future."

The new officer elects are sworn in on April 26.

Ticket 1 consisted of Bradley 'Conbread' Congleton for president, Brad Teasley for vice president, Tremayne Smith for treasurer and Kendra Parks for secretary.
