According to The Daily Reflector, prosecution against Steven Rashad Bass, who was arrested and charged with hitting an officer with a snowball during a snowball fight on campus this past January, was deferred on Tuesday.

Bass was charged with assault on a government official and resisting, delaying and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

The ECU Police Department declined to comment.

Deferred prosecution means that charges will not be pressed against Bass unless he is charged with another crime in the future.

The snowball fight started as a result of a Facebook event and began on Central Campus and later moved to College Hill where police were on hand.

More than 200 students were involved and police were prompted to take action and use pepper spray on students.

Videos of the fight were posted on Youtube and national news sources had been following the event.
