The Gamma Eta Chapter president Devin Brown explained that Phi Kappa Tau has a strong alumni base.
"If any of us need jobs, help with school work or just advice, they do what they can to help," said Brown.
Phi Kappa Tau also sponsors events on campus, such as softball tournaments. This semester, they are planning to have a car show. The show will be on April 11, at Hooker Memorial Church. Cash prizes will be given.
These brothers also do their part to help out and donate to their philanthropy, Hole In the Wall Summer Camp, a camp for terminally ill children, started by actor Paul Newman, a member of the National Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau. Brown recalls when some of his brothers went to volunteer at the camp.
"I remember them going on and on about how fulfilling it was to be able to help out," Brown said.
Phi Kappa Tau was nationally founded in 1906 in Oxford, O.H. A chapter was founded on ECU's campus in 1960.
Phi Kappa Tau is more than an average fraternity; it's composed of close-knit brothers who will do their best to help each other, according to Brown.
"That's what a fraternity is supposed to be about, a closeness or bond," Brown said. "These boys are more than my friends, they're my brothers, for life"
