Even the Golden Globes run to the mandatory three-hour awards-show mark, but they always feel breezier than their stodgier statue-giving counterparts.

Here's a rundown of some memorable moments:

Shhhh!: That the Globes aren't the Oscars was evident right at the start. The crowd just kept yakkin' so much that Jennifer Lopez had to scold, "Hello! Momma talkin'."

Later, Ricky Gervais quipped, "How rude are you lot? Just because you're film stars."

My Movie Can Beat Up Your Movie: Bruce Springsteen jokingly took on Dirty Harry after winning the Best Song/Motion Picture award for The Wrestler: "This is the only time I'm going to be in competition with Clint Eastwood. Felt pretty good too."

Yes, He Could: Tracey Jordan, speaking for the cast of 30 Rock after the show won for Best Comedy, said, "I'm the face of post-racial America. Deal with it, Cate Blanchett."

Emotional Moments of the Night: Sally Hawkins and Kate Winslet get the most tears-per-minute honors though Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan was solemn in accepting the Supporting Actor nod for the late Heath Ledger.

"After Heath passed, you saw a hole ripped in the future of cinema," he said.
