Playboy magazine ranked ECU as the "top party school in the nation"

Could it be true? Could the reputation of being a "party school" actually be founded in truth, at least according to Playboy?
Sorry partygoers, this rumor is not true. The legend has spanned decades, spawning rumors that the Pirate Nation appeared on the list in the late 1970s. However, Playboy has only compiled the list twice, first in 1987 and second in 2002.
While ECU didn't make the list the first time, it finally made an emergence in 2002, taking the 19th spot out of 25.
